Christmas Love

Hello dear friends! It is the night of our Savior’s birth, and I am so excited for our church candlelight service very soon here. I just wanted to pop in and say MERRY CHRISTMAS and I am so glad you are all here, sharing a little bit of life with me 🙂

This is my outfit for Christmas Eve church 🙂

The coat and hat are vintage and the dress is Modcloth.

And the smile? Courtesy of Christmas love and being beyond-happy.
(PS Check my Twitter and Facebook tomorrow and Darling Magazine for my Christmas poem!)
Much love to you and yours this Christmastide!

Draper Girl

Oh my, do I love a good hat!
A girl hop on a train to anywhere with a good hat.
{midnight train goin’ anyyyyyyyyywheeeeerrrrrrreeeeeeee}
Ahem. Pardon the complete digression. But these photos were taken at a train station. And then I just got carried away. Bachelor night seems to make me feel a little over-dramatic

And then the sun came out for a hot minute before it started snowing lightly. The wind was blowing something fierce, so I had to hold on to my hat for dear life.
When I saw that this particular hat was a “Draper” hat, I just had to get it for the Mad Men reference. Apart from its particular cute-ness.
But goodness if there isn’t a bit of romance in that, don’t you think?
Train stations, vintage hats, wind, Draper…
A bit of romance, if I do say so myself.
{See what I mean about Bachelor nights making me overly dramatic?}

Fave New Sweater

This sweater. I’ve been seeing similar versions all over the internet, so when my local thrift store had half off all sweaters, THIS had to come home with me. For $3! It’s like a big old blanket from the comfy couch in front of the fire at the log cabin….in sweater form. And besides, I’m always looking for an excuse to wear my colored jeans to work, hehe.

Mint Green Jeans

That’s right. I have mint green jeans. WHICH I LOVE!!!!!!!
I think this color looks so *fresh* in winter, especially with winter white. It’s so minty-wonderful.

Mint green jeans. Who knew? I mean, I’m just blown away that these exist, and that I found them in the window of a consignment store for $22 in my size. Normally, I’d say that was just way too much to spend,
but. hello. mint. green. jeans.
It would have been a betrayal to my second favorite color to leave them behind.
I also tried on some lovely lemon-yellow jeans (can you even imagine?!) but those, alas, were too small.
Not that I’m complaining.
Because I’m pretty sure mint green jeans count as a ‘score’.

In honor of my new jeans, I had to paint my nails the same color.

And then I happily noticed the towel I keep in my leopard print ice skating tote bag was the same color.
So I wore a similar outfit to ice skate last weekend. Complete with leopard print hat.
Mint green jeans make my life so much more fun.

Introducing: My New Coat!

My new down coat was an extra special treat….something I’ve been eyeing for over a year. When the special opportunity arose to treat myself, I knew this was what I wanted! I feel so carefree—so J.Crew catalogue or Kate Spade model-esque in this outfit and combination. I just love it!  It’s a happy sort of day–and I went for a walk to get a pumpkin spice latte.

Have a great Thanksgiving if I don’t catch you before then, my loves!
