IU Style: Polished

On Friday I showed you my weekend look using a cozy Indiana University cardigan. For the beginning of the work week I thought I’d share my more polished, pulled-together Alumni look. I am loving this vintage-inspired varsity stripe sweater, sent to me as one of my prizes for being chosen to win the Spirit of IU Alumni Association’s contest (see details here). It is so much fun to play around with all of the wonderful prizes they sent me (such high quality! love them all!). Thank you again!!

P.S. Lovelies, would you mind voting for me in the Bobbi Brown “Pretty Powerful” contest if you have a sec? The link should take you right to me, and you can click on the pink “Vote” button 🙂 Thank you!

Midsummer’s Eve

  Apricot-Lavender Crisp and Lingonberry Juice
{to celebrate my Swedish heritage on a particularly Swedish day, Midsummer’s Eve, when the treats were served}

{the weather has been so horrid all week, taking pictures in my kitchen is like trying to take pictures in a dungeon. Sorry for the poor lighting}
{remember how I told you here that I loved the cookbook Organic and Chic? This is another recipe from that book}
This combination is amazing. My co-worker almost died in delight when eating this. Deeeee-licious. We decided to make jam this summer with apricots and lavender. Wonder if anyone else has ever done that before. If not, we’ll make millions, it will be so delicious. Please don’t scoop me and start selling it tomorrow 😛
Anyway, we also had this…

Because, despite the brown hair, I’m quite Swedish and yeah, sure, you betcha, I’m quite proud to be!

Wear it Always

 {this is a different outfit, don’t get confused :-P}

It’s not grammatically correct to say you’ll, “wear it always,” like that one line in the article I just got published. It was right when I handed it in… and definitely wrong in print…grrrr. But anyway
I like to say “always” things. I think I got it from a Shirley Temple movie when I was really little.  So this J. Crew sweater? I’m totally going to wear it always. I’ve worn a variation of this pink top/dress, striped sweater and Hunter wellies combo for…oh, the last week.

Sharing is Good

Boy looks good in this hat. I like his hat. I like my aviators. Boy looks good in my aviators. We’re good sharers. But we finally got the boy a pair of his own aviators…now I just need to wait for this hat to go on sale so I can nab one for myself 🙂 Ok, so you guys, I’m kind of like totally in love with this new shirt and this hat. Can I wear it always? And always have it look this good and never smell? The shirt has buttons up the back. The details make this outfit: shiny red nails, my favorite ring, the J.Crew-esque necklace, the buttons on the shirt, and…duh, the hat 🙂
