Weekend Duds

Saturday rollin’ in flowered Birks, chambray shorts, white cami, flowered shirt, EMS half-zip, my fave sunnies, my fave hat, and my “Together” necklace.
The shirt underneath…so pretty when the light comes through!
{sharp eyes will notice a Hello Kitty bandaid on my finger. yep}

In other news: I finally got a KitchenAid mixer! Woot…I feel so legit and grown-up now. ‘Cause everyone knows that KitchenAid mixers are registry gifts, right, and you only get one when you’re officially ‘growing up’? Well, no registry here, but I picked it up for a song and I’m so excited to add it to my kitchen.
So that’s the weekend recap.
Into the new week!

Crazy 60s

Good Monday Morning, lovelies! I’m so excited to share with you this week, because I finally have a bit of a creative streak back after my move. Moving really takes it outta ya! For a night out at theatre and dinner, I went for a more dramatic outfit and a certainly dramatic eye look. Tell me what you think!

{Patterned dress + striped leggings + hot pink motorcycle jacket + bow flats}
{60s costume jewelry earrings}

That crazy eye-makeup is called split eyeliner. A technique often used in the 1960s and onstage to really define the eyes, it is very mod. It is also very heavy, and is therefore best used sparingly. But it’s a fun style to have in your makeup bag of tricks, don’t you think?

Mistakes

Let’s talk about some mistakes I’ve made lately.
Namely, wearing white after Labor Day.
But it was the fair! I just had to wear a white polka-dot dress to the FAIR!

Secondly, wearing white on a rainy day.

{see I had to switch into rain boots}
Thirdly, wearing white while drinking coffee.

When I stopped into the gas station for a coffee, the guy who always works there said, “Um, I don’t know how to say this, but…you’re wearing a really nice dress. With rain boots.”
Hehe. Yes, yes I am.
“But you look nice!” he quickly corrected himself, in case his ambiguous comment was taken poorly.
It made me giggle.
So those are the ‘mistakes’ I’m willing to admit on my blog, because they are the ‘funny’ sanitized little mistakes, but I can’t say the weekend was without other foibles. I am imperfect. Oh, oh, I am the first to admit: I am imperfect. Sometimes I get to feeling a little too self-assured and end up stumbling a bit to keep me humble. Humility is good for the soul, however embarrassing. Sometimes, it’s mighty embarrassing!
🙂

Ladylike Lace

Someone told me I looked like I should be walking down the streets of Paris in this outfit.
Sounds good to me! Laduree and the Louvre and L’Opera Paris are all missing me.

Until then, I can walk around the streets of my New England town and say, “Oui,” and “Non,” and shake my head a lot. That seemed to be how the Parisians do things. Oui?

Fingernails a’la TiffaMade! Gah I love them. So like the colors of the macarons at Laduree.
{darling website; do visit it. and, of course, the Paris tea room is stunning, too}
For my hair, I tried one large victory roll on the back. It’s sort of like a reverse Gibson tuck.
Maybe it’s a Natalie tuck. Or a Natalie roll. It’s a Natalie Tuck & Roll.
There.
Sounds so sophisticated, non
😉

Paris Lovin’

Something about an Eiffel tower sweater that demands bling, sunglasses, and red lipstick.

Wow, I’m so ridiculous. Paperbag-waist pants (hehe silly name) bring out the silly in me. Or caffeine & sunshine. They do that, too.

Just FYI, my belt is sparkly. And my shoes are silver.
I can’t figure these pants out, you guys. Some days, I love them. Other days, I hate them. Some days, I think they look good with flats only. Other days, only with heels. But they are super comfy, I must admit, and I find the paper bag waist super fun. But there are so many good things in this outfit that I’m quite sure I like: stripes, pink, blingy necklace, red lipstick, sparkly belt, silver driving mocs.

Three Thrifted Things Thursday

Say that ten times fast! Ha!

You’ll never believe these three things I thrifted that coordinate so well! I got such a kick out of it!

Mod 1960s-esque dress (but it’s H&M)

West Elm tray for my apartment

Coordinating clip-on earrings
I have a feeling my mom is going to want to steal all three of these things. Because she’s coming to visit today!
We shall see, we shall see. 🙂
Happy Thursday!

Natalie

Red, White, and Blue Through and Through

{For a weekend at the lake, that didn’t really end up being one, but it sort of was, still. Haha. I was planning to wear the seersucker capris you see, but it was too hot. Shorts had to do! You guys for the second year in a row I completely forgot to wear the tattoo. sad}

Wow, so this post is incredibly late due to my computer issues.Nonetheless…

{red, white, blue, and gold}

{Stars and Stripes toes!}

I really love Easter. Reaaaaalllllllllllllly love it.
And I love the fact that my boyfriend gave me an Easter basket that is fit for a six-year-old. And I am totally as excited about it as a six-year-old would be…check yes.
Also, I’m totally excited that JESUS IS ALIVE! I love that fact even more.
